The calm after the storm

Man, this last month has been crazy! Immidiately following the hectic holidays my whole family got the flu. It started with Brendan on Christmas night, then I got it that Wed., Brett and Harmony got it the day after me, but wouldn't you know it, I had it the longest and didn't fully recover until about the 2nd or 3rd. I don't want to get into it and gross everyone out, but I've never thrown up that much with the flu before. That was worse than morning sickness and over that week period I ended up losing 5 lbs.

Which leads me into my next subject, weight loss. I decided back in the fall to finally do something about my weight and started walking at Sidecut Park 2-4 times a week, depending on my schedule. I also added in pilates after my walk on most days and am trying to eat better and less all the time. So far since Oct. I've lost almost 20 lbs. and gained a new outlook on life and health. I feel so much better! I think the turning point really happened after I quit smoking (5 1/2 months now!) and realized I had to replace it with something or I was going to start again. So what better thing to replace smoking with then excersizing? And one thought that keeps me going is how much better shape I'll be in at Bonnaroo this year and that should make it alot easier to handle the heat and walking and hopefully I'll be more comfortable all together.

Which leads to my next and favorite subject, Bonnaroo. They annouced a few weeks ago the dates have been confirmed for June 16-18. After last year, which was to me the best year so far, I can't hardly wait for this year's festival. If memory serves they should be annoucing the first round of artist in the next couple of weeks and that's when the waiting gets harder. I have alot of expectations as far as who I'd like to be there this year, and I hesitate mentioning them for fear that it will jinx it, but I'm not superstitius so here's who I want to go: The Blackeyed Peas-I just started listening to them really resently, but think they would be perfect for the Roo and can only imagine how kick ass that show would be. Rilo Kiley-the best show I saw last year and this time I know everything they do, so bring it on. Guster-because it's Guster and I love them. Dave Matthews Band-how can they not go? I would be highly disappointed if they didn't. Mars Volta- I missed their set last year in exchange for sleep. I think I'll have to take more naps this year so I can go to the late night sets. Trey Anistasio-again, how could he not go? I've missed him every year except when he played with Dave and would kill myself if I missed him again, he has to go. There's many more, but those are the ones I want to be there the most. I hope they throw in someone I would have never thought of too, like the first year I went and they had James Brown. He was amazing and now I can say I've seen him live. Oh yeah, I also how Jurassic 5 is there again, because they were great. I could go on all day, but I won't. I hope everyone had a great Christmas and are on your way to a great '06. Peace out!
