Happy Halloween!

Hello spooks and goblins! I hope you all are having a fun Halloween. I hope Bryan and Gretchen's party was fun this past weekend and I wish I could have been there. This is my very favorite holiday and this year I'm getting into the spirit. I always want to dress up but rarely have an excuse to. Today I am Medusa, pretty easy with the dreads, although I did add some plastic snakes as well. I have to work this evening (I love dressing up at work, makes the night go by faster) and afterwards I'm going to hit BG with Lynzie and possibly Mel C. I know I'm probably getting too old for Bowling Green and should probably find a differnt location for next year, but hey, it's tradition, and almost everyone you see is dressed up which makes it that much more fun. Let me know if you're dressing up and what you're doing to celebrate devil's night. Peace out in the cemetary.

I'm not dead...

...I just don't have time to get on the computer much lately. The dreads are coming along nicely and are starting to look more like dreads now, sorry, no pictures yet. As I mentioned before I'm crap at computers and probably wouldn't be able to figure out how to put pictures on here anyway. So you all should just plan on trying to see me sometime soon.

What else is new? Not much really. I finally started listening to Mars Volta (which I'm sure Andrea and Bryan will like to hear). They are genius. You should listen to them with headphones on and try to count all the different sounds, it's impossible. I'm now so bummed I missed their set at Bonnaroo and hope they go back next year. And I've really only listened to their first cd, although I've heard a little of the new one from Brett playing it in the house, but seriously, if you haven't heard them, do yourself a favor. It's not mainstream and it's tricky to try and sing along to and it's like nothing you've ever heard, but all in a good way.

Well, looks like my life has been un-noteworthy. I'm going to see Guster this Wed night in Ann Arbor, so that should give me plenty to write about. I've seen them more than any other band, but haven't seen them live in over a year, so I'm totally jonesing for it, especially since they've been in the studio writing a new album. They always try new stuff out live and I love it, can't wait! Tell ya'll about it then. Peace out.

almost there

I started putting in my dreads last night. Well, to be more accurate, I put my hair in sections last night to prepare them for dreads today. So far the sectioning was the worst part. Imagine trying to put all of your hair into little pony tails all about a square inch, on a round head. Not the easiest thing to do, especially by yourself. It took me 5 1/2 hours with minimal help from my loving husband. In his defense he doesn't have a clue what to do with hair. He has never had to so much as part hair (and when he tries with Harmony it's a disaster), so to expect that he would be any help at all was moronic on my part. But, he did help with a couple tough areas and for that I am grateful.

Anywho, that pain in the ass over I started a new pain in the ass today. Or rather pain in the neck, arms, hands and scalp. It really isn't that bad. I bought a dreading kit on DreadHeadHQ.com and it along with their directions have made it alot easier than it could have been. Actually, I don't think I would have even attempted it without that site. So I have about 2/3rds done already and my friend Mel was going to come over after work to help finish them, but she has a horse show tomorrow and has to get up at 5:30am. I didn't want to be the one to make her late or tired in the morning so I'm going to try and finish them myself. Plus it'll be a great feeling of accomplishment to know I did it all myself. I do have her on call for tomorrow afternoon in case my arms fall off though. For now I'm taking a much needed break and I think I'll go take some asprin and perhaps do some yoga. I think that would help. The next time any of you see me, I'll look like Medusa. Pretty extreme for a Halloween costume, but damn it, I'm going to win this year! Peace out in the hood ya'll!
